Working with a local architectural firm, and with guidance from Shelter Planners of America, we’ve designed a new 19,000 square foot facility located on the same 26-acre property as the current shelter. This safe and modern new shelter will feature:
- A 136% increase in usable square footage
- 66% more dog and cat holding areas
- An adoptions & information entrance and an animal surrender entrance
- A large, inviting lobby
- 26 larger indoor/outdoor dog kennels for increased comfort
- 18 small indoor/outdoor dog kennels

- 8 cat condos and 8 cages in the cat adoption room
- 1 kitten room & a nursery
- Private, individual cat and dog “get-acquainted rooms” to promote bonding and adoptions

- Modern medical treatment facilities and separate isolation/quarantine for sick animals
- A procedures room for exams and spay/neuter, to ensure that procedures are performed prior to animals being adopted
