Fallston, MD (February 21, 2023) – The Humane Society of Harford County (HSHC) will soon be hearing the pitter patter of little paws, so to prepare for kitten season – the time of year when pregnant and nursing cats and orphaned neonatal kittens flood animal shelters across the nation – the shelter is hosting a Kitten Shower on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 1:00PM at 2208 Connolly Road in Fallston.

“Very soon in Harford County and across the country, thousands of tiny, fragile kittens will enter shelters, and each one of them needs help to survive,” said Diana Frederick, HSHC’s alternative placement manager. “The kitten shower is a fun way to raise awareness, familiarize the community with our foster program, and stock our cabinets with all the supplies we need to be ready.”

The shower will kick-off at 1pm with a Meow-Mosa mocktail toast and there will be games, door prizes, refreshments, and a chance to meet foster parents and sign up for the shelter’s foster program.

Admission to the event is a donation from HSHC’s gift registry. Items on the list include kitten food, non-clumping kitty litter, powdered kitten milk replacer, and bottles. Gift cards to area pet stores and monetary donations are also appreciated.

Can’t make it to the shower? The shelter has a kitten registry on Amazon and Chewy. Donations can be shipped to the shelter at 2208 Connolly Road, Fallston, MD 21047 or dropped off on the following days/times: Monday through Friday from 11am – 6pm; Saturday from 10am – 5pm; and Sundays from 12 – 4pm.
