Fallston, MD (July 3, 2012) – Where can you go to get a lifetime of loyalty, companionship and unconditional love for just $45? On Saturday, July 21st from 10 am until 1 pm the Humane Society of Harford County (HSHC) will have the answer as it showcases a half dozen special dogs that will be available for adoption for just $45. Refreshments will be served and there will be giveaways.

Volunteers from HSHC’s Dog Enrichment Team work with select dogs and provide TLC and training to include basic leash walking, obedience and even some tricks. These dogs are eager to show off what they’ve learned and find “forever” homes with the right family.

The $45 adoption fee for these dogs includes a rabies vaccination, the first set of distemper shots, de-wormer, flea & tick preventative, a microchip for identification purposes, a general health exam, and a bag of Hill’s Science Diet starter food. There is a $50 deposit for a HASP (Harford Animal Sterilization Program) certificate so the animal can be spayed or neutered. That fee is refunded upon completion of the procedure within 60 days of adoption.

About a dozen other dogs are members of HSHC’s Lonely Hearts Club, and their adoption fees are 50% off. Every day, certain animals watch visitors come to the Humane Society of Harford County searching for their new best friend. These animals are hoping that someone will stop and pay attention to them, give them a home and a new life. Unfortunately, time after time, these animals get overlooked. They may be older, not as outgoing or eye-catching, or just blend in with the rest, but they will still make wonderful pets if given the opportunity.

HSHC has dogs of every type, size, age and personality waiting for wonderful homes like yours. HSHC is open Monday – Friday from 11 am – 6 pm; Saturday from 10 am – 5 pm; and Sunday from 12 pm – 4 pm. Visit us on July 21st to find out what an adopted shelter dog can bring to your life!
