Fallston, MD (January 24, 2017) – Yes! It’s not just possible to make a difference for homeless animals and have loads of fun while doing it – it’s guaranteed! The Humane Society of Harford County (HSHC) is looking for fun-loving people to assemble a team of friends and/or family and collect pledges to support animals who don’t yet have warm homes and caring families to love them. Then lace up your rented bowling shoes and settle in for an afternoon of bowling on Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 3:00 – 6:30 p.m. at Forest Hill Lanes, One Maurice Drive in Forest Hill, MD. All proceeds from this important fundraiser support the homeless animals at HSHC.

Doors open for the Bowl-a-Rama on February 18 at 3 p.m. and participants can bowl as many games as they can fit in between 3:30 and 6:30 p.m. Pre-registration is $20 per person, and this fee helps to pay for each participant’s lane rental and bowling shoes. This event sells out early every year, so pre-register by February 15 with a credit card – or call 410-836-1090, x103 to pay over the phone. Each lane will consist of up to six bowlers, so if you have less players, you may be paired with other bowlers.

You don’t have to be a professional bowler to join in and raise money for the animals. Anyone can participate, and the key to success is collecting donations. Prior to the event, print a pledge sheet or fundraise online (most people do both). All donations collected are tax-deductible and should be brought to the registration desk on the day of the Bowl-a-Rama.

The Bowl-a-Rama is an excellent way for your company to encourage team-building. Work together to collect the most pledges because the first person or team to raise $1,000 wins a pizza party at your school, home or office (limit 10 pizzas). Please contact us at 410-836-1090, x106 when you reach this goal. If you’re not the first team to raise $1,000, keep fundraising because a prize will be awarded at the Bowl-a-Rama to the team that raises the most money overall. Your team may want to get together in advance to pick your team name, design t-shirts, or decide to dress alike the day of the Bowl-A-Rama. We’re awarding prizes to the individual or team with the most unique costume!

We will be raffling off several great baskets full of goodies, and for every $50 you raise in donations, you will receive two raffle tickets for a chance to win. Raffle tickets will also be available for purchase at the Bowl-a-Rama. Tickets are $3 each, two for $5, or an arm’s length for $10. If your organization would like to donate raffle prizes or a whole basket filled with items, please call 410-836-1090, x106 or contact Erin Long.

If your group is interested in sponsoring the Bowl-a-Rama, there are three different sponsorship levels that provide a variety of recognition opportunities. Click here or contact Erin Long.
