Just over 250 pets were vaccinated and/or microchipped at a public clinic hosted by the Humane Society of Harford County on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at the Darlington Volunteer Fire Company. HSHC clinic manager, Kelly Comerford, visits with a dog who’s come for affordable vaccinations.

Fallston, MD (September 29, 2026) – The Humane Society of Harford County (HSHC) is hosting a public pet vaccination and microchipping clinic on Saturday, October 24, 2026 from 10am-2pm at the Aberdeen Fire Department – Station 1, 21 N Rogers St, Aberdeen, MD 21001. The event is proudly sponsored by Jones Bel Air Subaru as part of Subaru Loves Pets month.

“The number of confirmed cases of rabies in Harford County this year has reached 28 animals – primarily raccoons – which is the highest in the state and already matches the entire total for all of 2025,” said Amanda Hickman, executive director at HSHC. “The only way to protect pets is to ensure their rabies vaccination is current. In fact, it’s a state law that all dogs, cats, and ferrets that are 4 months or older must be vaccinated for rabies. We urge community members to take advantage of this low-cost clinic to ensure the health and wellness of all pets in our community.”

In addition to the rabies vaccination for dogs, cats, and ferrets, the following vaccinations will also be offered: Bordetella (kennel cough) for dogs and distemper for dogs and cats. Vaccines are $15 each, and payment is via cash or major credit card. Pets can also be microchipped at the clinic for $25. Special guest Heart to Heart Mobile Pet Care, LLC will be onsite offering $20 nail trims. Appointments are not required and the clinic is open to all, regardless of income or place of residence.

To ensure the safety of everyone, dogs must be on a non-retractable leash with a properly fitted collar, and cats and ferrets must be safely secured in carriers.

“We are extremely grateful to our friends at Jones Bel Air Subaru who provided grant funding to help make this clinic possible,” Hickman said. “It’s all part of Subaru Loves Pets®, a national Subaru initiative to support animals in shelters across the country.”
