Fallston, MD (March 4, 2025) – Homeless animals sheltered at the Humane Society of Harford County (HSHC) know they can count on local businesses to make their holidays extra special. For the last nine years, Jason and Katie Davis, owners of Bel Air’s Route 24 Ale House and Lean Kitchen Company, challenge their fellow business owners to each host an event of their choosing and donate the proceeds. Known collectively as Deck the Paws, 20 businesses together raised $9,142 which will be used for the care and comfort of homeless animals.
“I cannot overstate how amazing the support is from our friends in the local business community,” said Amanda Hickman, HSHC’s executive director. “HSHC is an independent nonprofit organization and is not affiliated with any national organization, so the funds that are raised through Deck the Paws stay local and make a huge difference in the lives of the animals we shelter.”
The following businesses participated in the ninth annual Deck the Paws give-back event:
- Alize’s Pet Portraits
- Bow Tie Atticus
- Bushmill Tavern
- Coastal Cookies
- Das Bierhalle
- Doggilicious Doughnuts
- Everlasting Fitness
- Flavor Cupcakery
- Heart to Heart Mobile Pet Care
- Heated 4 U
- Hopkins Farm Brewery
- Independent Brewing
- JDT Transportation
- Kara’s K-9 Waffle Treats
- Lean Kitchen Company
- Looney’s Pub
- The Maryland Lottery
- Route 24 Ale House
- Slate Farm Brewery
- YogaCo
“Deck the Paws is such a great way for local businesses like ours to give back,” said Katie Davis. “Jason and I consider our pets family, and we do this every year so that other lucky families can experience the joy of pet adoption.”
