Fallston, MD (February 26, 2025) – The Humane Society of Harford County (HSHC), together with the Harford County Health Department and Heart to Heart Mobile Pet Care, hosted a pet vaccination clinic on Saturday, February 22 at the Darlington Volunteer Fire Company. Vaccines, nail trims and microchips were given to 279 dogs, 147 cats, and 2 ferrets over a 4-hour timeframe.
“Highly contagious and life-threatening diseases such as distemper and rabies are preventable in our pets with annual vaccinations,” said Amanda Hickman, HSHC’s executive director. “Our low-cost vaccination clinics aim to make it easy and affordable for pet parents to receive these vital pet healthcare services.”
Since it began hosting clinics in August of 2023, HSHC has seen over 1,800 pets to give core vaccines like rabies and distemper, implant a microchip or give a combination of both.
“We love going into our community to provide caring, compassionate services to help keep pets and people together,” Hickman added. “A very special thanks to our partners, volunteers and staff who come together for the health and safety of all pets.”
HSHC is planning to host another clinic later this summer on a date to be determined. Visit harfordshelter.org for updates.
