Fallston, MD (November 13, 2024) – Although it didn’t officially start until 10AM, dogs and cats with their families began lining up outside the Joppa-Magnolia Fire House as early as 8:30AM for the fall pet vaccination clinic on Saturday, November 2, 2024, hosted by the Humane Society of Harford County (HSHC) in partnership with the Harford County Health Department and special guest Heart to Heart Mobile Pet Care. Vaccines, nail trims and microchips were offered to 280 dogs and 130 cats over a 4-hour timeframe.

“We love being out in the community, protecting pets and helping pet owners save a little on their veterinary bills,” said Erin Long, manager of marketing and development at HSHC. “Plus, we implanted microchips in 63 pets, so that’s 63 more pets who are protected if they become lost.”

One grateful pet owner remarked on social media: “Thank you so much for doing this.” Another wrote: “It’s wonderful that you offer affordable care for pets!”

Since it began hosting clinics last August, HSHC has seen 1,400 pets for core vaccines like rabies and distemper, microchips or a combination of both.

“We get calls every day from pet owners who just need a little help,” Long added. “These clinics offer caring, compassionate resources to help keep pets and people together.”

The Humane Society of Harford County is planning to host another clinic in February 2025 on a date to be determined. Visit harfordshelter.org for updates.
