Fallston, MD (October 10, 2024) – The Humane Society of Harford County (HSHC), in partnership with the Harford County Health Department, is hosting a public pet vaccination clinic on Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 10am-2pm at the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company House 1, 1403 Old Mountain Rd S, Joppa, MD 21085. Vaccines, microchips and nail trims will be administered on a first come, first-served basis, and appointments are not required. Payment is via cash or a major credit card.
“Our clinics are for everyone, regardless of zip code or income level,” said Erin Long, manager of marketing and development at HSHC. “Our goal is to offer affordable core vaccines to protect pets from illness and disease. And since we don’t offer annual exams at our clinics, we still highly recommend a yearly wellness visit with a veterinarian.”
The clinic will offer distemper and Bordetella for dogs, distemper for cats, and rabies vaccines for dogs, cat, and ferrets. Vaccines are $10 each. Pets can also be microchipped at the clinic for $25. In addition, special guest Heart to Heart Mobile Pet Care, LLC will be onsite, offering nail trims for $20 per animal.
“Our team is looking forward to being in the Joppatowne community, supporting pet owners and safeguarding their pets,” Long added. “It feels good to know that pets we’re microchipping today could end up lost and in the shelter tomorrow, and we’ll be able to quickly locate their family and get them back home where they belong.”
Animals must be at least 4 months old to be vaccinated. To ensure the safety of everyone, dogs must be on a non-retractable leash with a properly fitted collar, and cats and ferrets must be safely contained inside a carrier.
