Affordable Pet Vaccine & Microchip Clinic Set for August 5

Fallston, MD (June 27, 2023) – Pet owners who need vaccinations and microchips for their dogs, cats and ferrets are in luck. The Humane Society of Harford County (HSHC) is hosting its first-ever public pet vaccination clinic on Saturday, August 5, 2023 from 10am-2pm at the Whiteford Fire Company, 1407 Pylesville Road, Whiteford, MD 21160.
“Protecting the family pet from deadly and preventable diseases like parvovirus, distemper and panleukopenia should never come down to cost,” said Bob Citrullo, executive director at HSHC. “Our goal is to make core vaccines affordable for pet parents who are experiencing financial challenges and help give pets a healthy life.”
The clinic will offer distemper and Bordetella for dogs, distemper for cats, and rabies vaccines for dogs, cat, and ferrets. Vaccines are $10 each. In addition, the clinic will implant and register microchips for $25.
“Getting a microchip is such an easy thing to do,” Citrullo added. “It takes just a few seconds and can be the difference between getting your pet back immediately, waiting days or weeks to be reunited, or in some cases, never seeing that pet again.”
No appointments are needed, and services will be available while supplies last. Animals must be at least 4 months old to be vaccinated. Cash or credit/debit is accepted. To ensure the safety of everyone, dogs must be on a non-retractable leash with a properly fitted collar, and cats and ferrets must be safely contained inside a carrier. Vaccines given through the clinic are DAPPv Canine and HCP Feline vaccines by Merck Animal Health.
