Fallston, MD (April 4, 2012) – Put on your dancing shoes, grab your friends, let down your hair, and support the largest party of the year for Harford County’s homeless and neglected animals! The Humane Society of Harford County’s Bow Wow Boogie will be held on Friday, May 4, 2012 from 7:30-11:30pm at the Richlin Ballroom, 1700 Van Bibber Road, Edgewood, MD. Now more than ever, local businesses and animal lovers across the region are strongly encouraged to show their love for the animals and donate gift cards, jewelry, artwork, professional services, tickets to area attractions, and much more for the evening’s popular silent auction to raise much-needed funds for an average of 4,500 animals that come to the shelter each year.

New this year is a raffle for a sensational Greek Island Getaway to the Island of Rhodes! The winner will enjoy 8 glorious days and 7 sizzling nights at the gorgeous Cyprotel Faliraki hotel with 3 buffet meals per day, snacks, drinks, airfare, and accommodations all included (this trip has an approximate value of $4,200). The hotel property is situated on The Aegean Sea near both Faliraki and Kallithea beaches, Water Park Faliraki, and Afandou Golf Course. Take excursions to nearby Temple of Apollo or the Acropolis of Rhodes (additional fee). The trip must be taken during the first week of June 2012 or 2013, the last week of September through the end of October 2012, or in May 2013. Tickets for this island paradise are on sale now at the shelter for just $100 each and only 125 tickets will be sold. The winning ticket will be drawn at the Bow Wow Boogie on May 4 (winner does not need to be present to win).

A returning favorite is the popular silent auction where guests can bid on a wide variety of fabulous gift baskets. Other items will be auctioned off live. Last year’s live auction featured sports memorabilia from the Ravens and Orioles, tickets to the Baltimore Grand Prix, passes for ten to spend a day at Pimlico with a race named in your honor, and tickets to the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra with an overnight stay at the Tremont Plaza Hotel in Baltimore City. Companies who donate prizes will receive recognition in the evening’s event program as well as in a display beside their donation.

There are a variety of sponsorship opportunities available that provide recognition in advertisements, on our website, on our Facebook page, and in the event program that evening. The “Top Dog” event sponsor is Animal Emergency Hospital.

For tickets to the event or for the exciting Greek Island Getaway, or to sponsor the event, call Mary Leavens at 410-836-1090, x101 or email Mary at [email protected]. Tickets are $45 per person or $400 for a table of ten. Proceeds benefit the homeless and neglected animals of Harford County. Donations to the live and silent auction can be mailed or brought into the shelter at 2208 Connolly Road, Fallston, MD by April 25th.
