Humane Society of Harford County Giving Pets a Shot at Healthy Life

Fallston, MD (June 4, 2025) – The Humane Society of Harford County (HSHC), in partnership with the Harford County Health Department, is hosting a public pet vaccination clinic on Saturday, June 28, 2025 from 10am-2pm at the Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company, 3825 Federal Hill Rd, Jarrettsville, MD 21084. Vaccines, microchips and nail trims will be administered on a first come, first-served basis, and appointments are not required. Payment is via cash or a major credit card.
“Our clinics are for everyone, regardless of zip code or income level,” said Erin Long, manager of marketing and development at HSHC. “Our goal is to offer affordable core vaccines to protect pets from preventable illness and disease.”
The clinic will offer distemper and Bordetella for dogs, distemper for cats, and rabies vaccines for dogs, cat, and ferrets. Vaccines are $10 each. Pets can also be microchipped at the clinic for $25. In addition, special guest Heart to Heart Mobile Pet Care, LLC will be onsite offering $20 nail trims for dogs only.
“We’re looking forward to being in the Darlington community, supporting pet owners and safeguarding their pets,” Long added. “These clinics are always well attended, and in fact, at our last clinic in Darlington in February, we vaccinated 279 dogs, 147 cats, and 2 ferrets in four hours.”
Animals must be at least 4 months old to be vaccinated. To ensure the safety of everyone, dogs must be on a non-retractable leash with a properly fitted collar, and cats and ferrets must be safely contained inside a carrier. Because the clinic will be held in the open truck bays, humans should dress for warmer weather and be prepared to stand outdoors in line.
