DESCRIPTION:Join us for a Quarter Auction to support homeless animals on Friday\, October 16\, 2026 at the Riverside Community Center in Belcamp! Doors open at 6pm and the fun begins at 7pm! \nTickets are $5 each and include 3 paddles. If you’d like more paddles\, you can buy more at the door on October 16th. A very limited number of walk-in tickets may be available at the door. \nBring your quarters\, but we’ll also have extra rolls of quarters available for purchase. Lite dinner fare\, snacks\, beverages and homemade baked goods will be available\, and we’ll have Humane Society t-shirts\, ball caps\, and other merchandise for sale. \nRaffles\nBring an item from our Wish List and you’ll be entered into a special drawing. There’ll also be a 50/50 raffle and a table of raffle items donated by our vendors\, so lots of chances to win! \nVendors* \n\nScentsy\nGift Cards/Snack Baskets\nCash Grab\nLongaberger\nBlankets and Pillows\nTastefully Simple\n*vendor list subject to change\n\nTickets\nEach $5 ticket includes admission to the event and 3 paddles.\n**A very limited number of walk-in tickets may be available at the door. \n\nAll tickets purchased under the same name will be seated together automatically.\nIf you have multiple members in your party but each person is purchasing their own tickets\, please email the organizer at harleydog4@comcast.net to let her know who is sitting together.\n\n100% of proceeds benefit homeless animals at The Humane Society of Harford County. DESCRIPTION:The Humane Society of Harford County is hosting a pet vaccination & microchipping clinic on Saturday\, October 24\, 2026 from 10am-2pm at the Aberdeen Fire Department – Station 1\, 21 N Rogers St\, Aberdeen\, MD 21001. The clinic is generously brought to you by Jones Bel Air Subaru! \nNail trims will be given by special guest\, Heart to Heart Mobile Pet Care\, LLC. Appointments are not required! Payment is via cash or a major credit card. \nAnimals must be at least 4 months of age and for everyone’s safety\, all dogs must be on a non-retractable leash and all cats and ferrets must be in a carrier. Questions? Call 410-836-1090\, x110 or email us. \nFAQs:\nQ: What vaccines does my cat need?\nA: Cats are given either a 1-year or a 3-year rabies shot* and a distemper (1-HCP) vaccine. Distemper (also known as feline panleukopenia virus) is a highly contagious\, life-threatening infectious disease in cats. It mostly affects kittens and unvaccinated cats\, and it can be fatal if not appropriately diagnosed and treated. Panleukopenia is considered one of the deadliest cat diseases in the unvaccinated cat population. \nQ: What is in the Feline 1-HCP vaccine?\nA: This vaccine protects against feline rhinotracheitis\, calici\, and panleukopenia. \nQ: So what are the DAPPv and Bordetella vaccines?\nA: The DAPPv shot is a combination vaccine approved for protection against canine distemper virus\, canine adenovirus type 1 (hepatitis)\, canine adenovirus type 2 (respiratory disease)\, canine parainfluenza virus and canine parvovirus. The Bordetella vaccine is commonly known as the kennel cough shot. It is highly recommended for dogs who go to doggie daycare\, boarding kennels\, shows\, dog parks\, and training classes. \nQ: *How often are rabies vaccinations given?\nA: The first rabies shot is generally given to your pet at 4 months of age and lasts for 1 year. Your pet’s next rabies vaccination will be good for 3 years. You should get your pet vaccinated for rabies every 3 years thereafter. In order to get the 3-year rabies vaccine at our clinic\, you must bring proof of a prior rabies vaccine with the date of vaccination (month|day|year). The vaccine must be within expiration or no more than 30 days past expiration. \nQ: What is a microchip?\nA: A microchip is a small\, electronic chip that is about the same size as a grain of rice. It is implanted between your pet’s shoulder blades and is activated by a scanner that is passed over the area\, and the radio waves put out by the scanner activate the chip. The chip transmits the unique identification number to the scanner\, which displays the number on the screen. Collars can fall off\, but microchips are permanent!
