Help Us Name Our Kittens

Here’s your chance to permanently NAME THE 4 ADORABLE KITTENS that were found dumped in a trashcan in a Darlington, MD park on Monday, September 18th! We held an online poll from Sept. 20-24 and collected about 200 naming suggestions. There were definite themes that emerged and some really unique entries! We selected the top 5 suggestions/themes that emerged and now we’re asking you to vote for your favorite!

From now until midnight on Sunday, October 1, for $1 per vote, you can select your favorite set of names. 100% of the proceeds from this contest will be placed in our Phoenix Fund. The Phoenix Fund was established to give critically injured or ill animals a second chance. Donations to this special fund are set aside to pay for costly surgeries, life-saving medications and extensive rehabilitation.

A Good Samaritan was walking his dog in a Darlington, MD park when he observed someone get out of their vehicle and place a bag inside a park trashcan. After they drove away, this alert individual heard sounds coming from the can, and upon closer inspection, discovered the kittens, who were just days old. He alerted authorities who transported the kittens to an area emergency pet hospital, and once the kittens were given a healthy report, they were sent to the Humane Society of Harford County who has placed them into a foster home.

Kittens that are this young are extremely vulnerable. They can’t regulate their own temperatures and can quickly get too cold, and they depend on round-the-clock bottle feeding and help with elimination. Funds will be needed for their ongoing care, so if you’d like to make a tax-deductible donation to support the kittens, please click here.
