The Scarboro Hills Disc Golf Club is hosting the Second Annual “Let’s Throw for Tyler Together” Doubles Disc Golf Tournament to benefit the Humane Society of Harford County and the Arthritis Foundation to ensure their missions, research, advocacy efforts, programs and services continue to grow. In October 2012, Mr. Tyler Anderson volunteered to chair our annual charity event and chose to help the Humane Society of Harford County and the animals that he loved. Tragically, on November 17, 2012 Tyler was taken from us in a car accident only days after his 21st birthday. Tyler had a lifelong passion for animals. In his job at the Jarrettsville Veterinary Center, both the animals and people loved Tyler. Last year, we proudly donated $10,000.00 to support the Humane Society of Harford County’s cause in Tyler’s name.
Portions of the proceeds from this year’s event will benefit the Humane Society of Harford County to support its mission to help over 4,500 homeless and neglected animals that enter the shelter each year. Your support provides for the animals’ medical needs, food, a safe environment, and most importantly, finding a “home” with a loving family. In 2011 and 2012, our club raised a combined $6,000 for the Arthritis Foundation. This year, we are pleased to include the Arthritis Foundation as a beneficiary to support their mission, research, and advocacy programs. We invite you to become a sponsor.
Our event is scheduled for Saturday, June 7, 2014, in Street, Maryland. It will begin with a light breakfast at 8:30 A.M.; followed by two rounds of two player teams playing Best Shot disc golf. During the tournament we will hold fun activities for those who are not playing but want to support the event.
We respectfully request that you consider sponsoring our event and invite you to review the Invitation to Sponsor as you consider your level of participation. In acknowledgement of a sponsorship, we will recognize your generosity by listing your name in the event program, on our website and on signs displayed on the course. If you elect to become a Corporate, Ace, Birdie, or Par sponsor, your name will appear on all merchandise and event materials. Additionally, your donation is tax deductible. We will graciously accept any donation you may be willing to provide. We hope we can count on your support to make the 2nd Annual “Let’s Throw for Tyler Together” Disc Golf Tournament a success.
