Over 200 people attended the Bowl-a-Rama on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Forest Hill Lanes, sponsored by Harford Emergency & Referral Veterinary Services. Bowling teams with names like “The Pooper Scoopers”, “The Rescue Rovers”, and “Team Swag in our Wag” helped to raise $17,000 for the homeless and neglected animals of Harford County!
The Bowl-a-Rama is a fun, family bowling event for adults and kids alike that aims to strike out pet homelessness. Our supporters filled all 40 lanes at the bowling alley with teams of up to 5 bowlers per lane. Bowlers paid a small pre-registration fee to help offset the cost of their shoe and lane rental.
Each participant was encouraged to raise donations before the event. Bowlers could also set up their own personalized fundraising page online to raise money. By the morning of the event, we had already raised over $5,000 online!
We awarded a trophy to our top fundraising team, BSC America/Bel Air Auto Auction, who raised over $1,900…wow! Following close behind them was the team from The Animal Benefit Community of Fallston with over $1,600! Our top individual fundraiser was Sandy Stokes with BSC America. We awarded a pizza party to Mary’s Chin Pack because they were the first team to raise $1,000.
Our top event sponsor was Harford Emergency & Referral Veterinary Services. Other sponsors were:
