The Lonely Hearts Club Adoption Program has been created to highlight animals that have been at the shelter for a long period of time. Every day, certain animals watch visitors come to the Humane Society searching for their new best friends, hoping that someone will stop and pay attention to them, give them a new home and a new life. Unfortunately, time after time they get passed over.

These animals may be older, not as outgoing or eye-catching or maybe they just blend in with the rest. They are being overlooked for whatever reason, but will still make wonderful pets if given the opportunity.

At the Humane Society of Harford County, we feel that all of our animals are special, so we have given our in-need friends a club of their own called THE LONELY HEARTS CLUB.

The adoption fee for all animals in the Lonely Hearts Club will be discounted by 50%. They will be given their vaccinations, microchipped and will be adopted with a HASP (Harford Animal Sterilization Program) certificate so the animal can be spayed/neutered.

Animals that are in the Lonely Hearts Club are designated on our website in the pet search section and a Lonely Hearts Club sticker is affixed to their kennel card at the shelter.
